March Break in the Snow
Bundle up and get ready for some family fun this March Break! Even though the days are getting longer, March is still a winter month for most areas of Canada. This means it will probably be cold and snowy, and the perfect opportunity to delight in some winter fun. We think taking the time to enjoy our Canadian weather can be great, so we have created a list of family-friendly activities to help make the best March Break ever!
Snow Tubing
Explore the snow-covered hills and discover the thrill of snow tubing! This activity is enjoyable for everyone and requires no training whatsoever – just sit and hold on tight! Depending on the slope of the hill you will either pick up considerable speed or leisurely slide down towards the bottom. Show up prepared to spend some time in the snow. A warm hat, waterproof gloves, snow pants and boots are necessary for a comfortable and fun experience.
Sugar Shack
Happiness is… maple taffy! People living in Eastern Canada know that March means maple syrup season is upon us. What a perfect time to go to a sugar shack and check out the maple trees, go for a sleigh ride and enjoy a traditional meal of pancakes, ham, bacon, sausages, tourtière… all generously smothered in deliciously sweet maple syrup. There are so many sugar shacks to discover and with a little research, you will be sure to find the sweet spot for you!
Skiing and Snowboarding
Snowsports are very popular and a great way to embrace the outdoors. If your family is sporty and loves the slopes, spending a day out in the fresh mountain air can be a breathtaking adventure. Challenge one another to take new routes, explore new terrain and experience the culture and jaw-dropping scenery of the mountains. Or, if your style is more après-ski – treat yourself! There is something for everyone.
March Break is a special time of year to spend with family and friends creating memories to last a lifetime. With the proper winter attire, you will be prepared to embrace the outdoors with warm hands and toes! Enjoy the laughter, smiles and squeals of excitement and delight that this time of year brings.
